This is a really awesome set of decorating tips. It's larger than I expected, much larger than your standard cake decorating tips. But it comes with the right size couplers and bags that can be cut to fit them. It's definitely not a set for beginners to learn on. It does not come with any directions on assembly or use, so if you haven't used a pastry bag and know how to assemble and use it, it could be confusing and you would be better starting with a different set. You also should not use it with the standard canned frosting you buy in a grocery store as it would be too soft and doesn't harden up, thus the images would distort, you must use decorator icing, either purchased or made from scratch. I can't wait to use it on my Christmas baking projects.

Received these fast. The pictures are deceiving as the package contained duplicates of all tips. So two of each with no gift box, candy cane included and what looks like different snow flakes than what I received. They are cute but did not get everything that was advertised!!!

The tips take some work getting the frosting right. The powdered sugar MUST be sifted and the Butter has to be soft enough to be creamed before adding the sugar. I microwaved a half stick for 10 seconds out of the fridge. Then the mix needs to thick, but beaten 3 minutes when done. This gets it soft enough, but thick enough to hold the shape. The recommended recipe has shortening, so that's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

While there is nothing really wrong with the tips, I am disappointed in the lack of variety in the set. There are 6 snowflakes ( I don't think I need 6 different snowflakes), 3 trees (don't think I need 3 different trees), 2 leaves, 1 candy cane, 1 present, 1 bell, one santa face ( that does not work anyway). Some other designs would have been nice, like holly or maybe a pointsettia shape, or things like that instead of 6 trees. I am not returning them but I do feel the lack of variety makes the set not worth the price.

I love using the Russian Piping Tips. They help make cake decorating fun. My 6 year old niece likes to decorate her own cakes also. For all the lower reviews you have to give these another chance. The American Buttercream recipe works the best with these.
