Condense Icons on Your Google Chrome Bookmarks Bar - wilsonfole1966
I'm a big fan of Chrome's Bookmarks Bar, which puts my most frequently visited sites crosswise the top of the browser, simply one click away.
The problem is that I have got so galore favorites, they don't completely equip. Instead, they grow squeezed out of view, requiring me to click the brief double-pointer on the right end of the Bookmarks Bar. Then I'm stuck perusing a dangle-down menu, which takes, the likes of, all day.
The answer I've found is to condense those favorites icons, or favicons, by eliminating the text that accompanies them. Information technology takes a little of time, but I think IT's worth the effort. Here's how:
1. Right-click some icon in your Bookmarks Bar, and so click Edit.
2. Remove the school tex from the Name field, and then get across Save.
3. Presto! Now you've got just the favicon for that favorite.
4. Reduplicate the sue for all the other icons in your Bookmarks Relegate.
Proceed in mind that because not all Web site has an easily acknowledgeable favicon, you might not want to take this approach for each and every favorite.
For example, sites like Facebook, Ebay, and PC World have instantly recognizable favicons. Merely others are Thomas More vague, and if you have any bookmarklets, those are usually represented away nothing more than a gray globe — and therefore shouldn't be shortened.
Thus, you'll want to fiddle with this to find the best arrangement for your detail setup. You could ever thin a favicon's name to an abbreviation, equal "LMI" for LogMeIn (which has a middling taxonomic category-looking favicon). That would appropriate you to distill your Bookmarks Bar while keeping your icons undemanding to describe.
